We all know modest consumption of most food and drink is fine. Common sense tells you that. We all know that modest consumption of red wine is more than fine – it is beneficial to your heart, your mind, your spirit. You know that, right?

In case you have forgotten, we feel it our duty to remind you: a glass a day keeps the doctor away. Ask Antonio Docampo Garcia.  He could drink up to four bottles of his own homemade wine a night and lived to 107. In fairness, me personally would probably be dead already if I drank that much. However, back to that glass or two a day – some news on its effects: According to a post on the Carouser, you can give up your gym membership. Here an interesting except from the post:

“The compound resveratrol, found in red wine, is said to enhance your performance and improves heart function to the same extent that a work out would…”

We did not know this. Now, we will continue to go on runs because we love running but it is good to know that something as sublime as a glass of red wine is a good thing.  As one says in German: alles mit Maß und Ziel

Thank you to the Carouser and thank you to the Independent.
